Hamid Kohan is a serial entrepreneur, public speaker, and award-winning author with decades of experience at the intersection of technology, business growth, and the legal industry. A Career Built on Innovation and Scalability
Hamid’s career began in technology at an unusually early age. He earned his engineering degree from California State University, Chico at just 17 and was immediately recruited to Silicon Valley, where he began working with leading technology companies. By the age of 21, he had completed his MBA in Business Marketing, laying the foundation for a career focused on innovation, product development, and growth strategy.
Early in his career, Hamid played a key role in pioneering modern computing. As Senior Manager of Product Development at Grid Systems, he worked on the team that developed the world’s first laptop computer. He later joined SUN Microsystems as Senior Engineering Manager, where he collaborated alongside future technology leaders while helping scale the company from 200 employees to more than 13,000 in under a decade. His leadership journey continued with senior roles at Hitachi Computers and Tandem Computer (HP), where he led business and technology development initiatives.
Driving Growth Across Industries
In 1999, Hamid transitioned into executive leadership, becoming Division President of Emblazed Technology, a publicly traded company. Under his leadership, the company achieved 300% growth in 12 months and reached a valuation of $1 billion.
In 2004, he co-founded CAPLUCK Inc., launching Cap60, a data management platform that now serves organizations across 40 states and is recognized as the largest provider of services to nonprofit organizations in the United States.
Transforming the Legal Industry
In 2016, Hamid brought his expertise in technology and growth strategy into the legal space by founding Legal Soft Inc. What began with a handful of local law firms quickly evolved into a nationwide operation supporting firms across the U.S.
Under Hamid’s leadership, Legal Soft has helped law firms achieve over 100% growth, transforming single-practice firms into multi-state, multi-practice operations. The company specializes in practice management solutions for areas such as personal injury, employment law, immigration, and business law, earning a reputation for efficiency, scalability, and results.
